Focused on the Blur

Bokeh, the art of the blur.  Looking through the lens, I am drawn to it.  I pursue it.  I play with it.  Am I preoccupied with it?  Am I so distracted with the blur of the background that I lose focus on what is important? 

In life?

Sometimes the peripheral can become distracting.  The swirl of busyness invites the eye away from our intentions... 

until it becomes our focus.  Finally we can see that what seemed so appealing is nothing more than background noise... cluttered fragments of insignificance.  We zoom out; take a step back; find our goal; reset our sights... and zoom back in.  Clarity.  Focus.

This spring, as a part of my Kindermusik licensing, I was asked to describe in one word the difference between where I was at that time and the vision of where I wanted to be.  My word was blossom.  Focus isn't always easy... but so worthwhile... a new season is well underway.  A closed, new promising bloom... opens delicate layer by beautiful, vibrant, delicate layer... a blossom.  Open.  Full.  Focused.

Family.  Friends.  Home.  Growth.  Discovery.  Learning.  Adventure.  Blossom.
