Growing up is a roller coaster ride. Exciting. Challenging. Playful. Confusing. Breathtaking. Joyful.
Ever shaping. Molding.
A journey. The first chapters of a new life.
Curling up with a favorite book under worn quilts and fuzzy blankets has always been a place of calm for my little men and I. Tucked beneath my wing. Soaking up words, pictures... love.
Since they were each but babies, with tender skin glowing pink, I have chosen for them Valentine stories to say, "I love you."
Sometimes as night surrounds, restlessness tugs and pulls.
This is a gathering of a few favorites. One, The Quiltmaker's Gift, wasn't a Mama Valentine at all, but a gift from Grandma... who taught me to sew, whose mother taught her, whose mother taught her. Its tender tale and vibrant art touched heartstrings so that it somehow melted into these stories of love.
Our beloved heart stories bring laughter, tears, toes touching... restlessness somehow evaporates in the warmth of the familiar... of family. Love spilling... filling.
From my heart,
Susan

I Love You the Purplest by Barbara M. Joosse
Love You Forever by Robert N. Munsch My big guy's favorite. He has to draw his cheeks in to keep the tears at bay. (I just let them stream.)
